About Phillip M. Davis


Attorney Phillip M. Davis has many years of experience prosecuting and defending claims made pursuant to the Defense Base Act (DBA), Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act (LHWCA), and Nonappropriated Fund Instrumentalities Act (NAF or NAFI) before the United States Department of Labor (DOL), Benefits Review Board (BRB), and United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. In addition, Mr. Davis has extensive experience handling War Hazards Compensation Act (WHCA) claims.

Mr. Davis has represented injured workers, employers and insurance carriers in thousands of claims. Currently, Mr. Davis represents injured workers with DBA, LHWCA and NAF claims.

Mr. Davis earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Sam Houston State University and his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Davis was the recipient of the Dean's Scholarship  and was Best Speaker/Advocate at the Jackson Walker Moot Court Competition.

Mr. Davis is admitted to practice nationwide before the United States Department of Labor in both the Office of Workers' Compensation Programs and the Office of Administrative Law Judges. Additionally, Mr. Davis is admitted to practice law in all courts in the State of Texas and in the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern District of Texas.

When not making life difficult for insurance companies who deny injured workers' claims, Mr. Davis enjoys providing pro bono legal services to the community and blogging.
